Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of Mentio. Last updated: June 2026.

⚠️ Draft — please have a qualified lawyer review before relying on it.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Mentio you agree to these Terms. If you use Mentio on behalf of an organisation, you accept on its behalf. Provider: Giacomo Cavalcabò (sole trader / ditta individuale), Italian VAT IT13808610961, Via Giorgio Washington 85, 20146 Milano (MI), Italy.

2. The service

Mentio measures whether and how brands are cited by AI answer engines (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Claude) and provides related analytics, recommendations and reports. Engine outputs are generated by third parties and can vary or be inaccurate; Mentio reports what it observes and does not guarantee any ranking or result.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Plans, credits, billing & refunds

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Cloud plans include a set allowance; the pay-as-you-go plan uses prepaid credits consumed per probe — you are never charged beyond your plan or purchased credits without your action. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Applicable taxes (e.g. VAT) are added at checkout.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Mentio to break the law, infringe others' rights, abuse the AI engines' terms, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. Track brands and prompts you are entitled to monitor.

6. Self-hosting (open core)

The core engine is available to self-host for free under the AGPL. Those terms govern self-hosted use; these Terms govern the managed cloud service.

7. Intellectual property

You keep ownership of your data and configurations. We keep ownership of the Mentio software and brand (subject to the open-source licence for the core). You can export your data at any time.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You may stop using Mentio at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the law.

10. Governing law & changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy / the EU, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections. We may update these Terms; material changes are announced on this page. Contact: hello@usementio.eu.
